Event of the Month – Christmas at Burghley House

Christmas at Burghley House: This December there are loads of Christmas themed activities going on at Burghley. The Burghley House Christmas Shop will be open from Saturday 14th November to Sunday 20th December from 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Sunday.  A large array of Christmas gifts, decorations and seasonal ware is available in this dedicated shop located in the Brewhouse building, with the entrance opposite the Courtyard Shop in the Chestnut Courtyard.

The Courtyard Shop will also be open from Wednesday 4th November to Sunday 20th December from 10am to 4pm. Shopping in a relaxed environment, the Courtyard Shop, situated within Chestnut Courtyard, offers an extensive range of fine foods and chocolate, lifestyle goods and accessories as well as jewellery and toiletries. There is always something for everyone with some of the gifts inspired by Burghley. We also offer an extensive range of books which include titles on the Cecil family and Burghley House as well as postcards, stationery, clothes and toys.

The Orangery will be serving Christmas Lunch and Afternoon Tea over the Christmas season, perfect for both large parties and smaller groups. Booking for groups of 8-50 guests will need to pre-order via our booking form (find via the Burghley House button on the home page of Stamford and Rutland).  For groups of less than 8 people, booking is not neccessary, simply turn up on the day and order as normal. The Orangery Restaurant is open in the winter season from Wednesday to Sunday. Breakfast is served from 10am to 12pm, Lunch from 11.30am to 2.30pm and Afternoon Tea from 2pm to 3.30pm.  The Orangery closes at 4pm. (Christmas menus will be available from 18th November).
